In 2020, Oneworld Accuracy will create 4 new microbiology programs to ensure the quality of your laboratory.
The new programs are crested for testing Carbapenem resistant Enterobacteriaceae, Group B Streptococcus, Malaria antigens and Trichomonas vaginalis.
Furthermore, Oneworld Accuracy will change the sample types of some of its microbiology EQA programs. In order to make the EQA samples similar to clinical samples, Oneworld Accuracy will send stabilized swab samples instead of lyophilized samples.
This modification will allow participants to receive and treat their EQA samples in the same ways than patient samples. We recognize that by using simulated swabs samples instead of lyophilized samples, EQA will be a more efficient tool to evaluate the quality of testing of your laboratory as they more closely mimic the kind of samples that your laboratory usually receives.
The following programs will be provided as stabilized swabs in 2020: CRES (Carbapenem resistant Enterobacteriaceae), MRSA (Methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus), STRB (Group B Streptococcus), TVAG (Trichomonas vaginalis) and VREN (Vancomycin resistant Enterococcus). All samples can be tested by culture and/or molecular testing.
Importantly, please note that the test event windows for these programs will be of 2 weeks to ensure the stability of the samples.
